2015 ENCOMPASS Scholarship Recipients

We were pleased to award two Scholarships and three Honorary Education Gifts as we continue in our fourth year of our Scholarship Program. We had many qualified candidates to choose from and wish the best to all who applied.

We are pleased to announce the following students who were each given awards from ENCOMPASS.

To qualify, candidates must be a graduating student who has a parent that works for a client of ENCOMPASS and are pursuing post-secondary education in the Fall of 2015.

2015 Scholarship picture

Congratulations to:

Scholarship of $500 each:

  1. Kevin Sokolan – son of Mueller Electric Canada employee, Karen Sokolan. Kevin will be attending UBC Okanagan’s Business Management Program.
  2. Paige Wards – daughter of Peace River Regional District employee, Christina Wards. Paige will be attending the Grande Prairie Regional College to pursue Nursing and Humans Resources.

 

Honorary Education Gift of $200 each:

  1. Kandice Wainwright – daughter of Regional District of Bulkley Nechako employee, Wendy Wainwright. Kandice will be attending University of Northern BC’s Health Sciences program.
  2. Brandon Taschuk – son of Great West Equipment employee, Brad Mitchell. Brandon will be attending UBC Okanagan Nursing Program.
  3. Tye Kitzman – son of Great West Equipment employee, Lyle Gammel. Tye plans to attend UBC Okanagan a degree in Kiesiology.

 

In Addition to the two ENCOMPASS scholarships and three honorary education gifts, individual scholarships were established at various high schools and Colleges served by ENCOMPASS Benefits. Some are administered directly by the school themselves and others by COBBS (Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society. This non-profit society acts as an administrator for many schools in the Okanagan, receiving applications from students and matching them to scholarships and awards they are eligible for).

2015 Recipients are:

Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School. Kelowna, BC: Corrine Lavinge received $500 scholarship at graduation.

Heritage Christian School, Kelowna BC: Grace Bell received a $500 scholarship at graduation. Grace will be pursuing studies at UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Science Program.

Immaculata Secondary School, Kelowna BC: Emily Haber received a $500 scholarship at graduation. Emily will be attending Okanagan College’s Business Program.

Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford BC: Breanna Willms received $1,000 as a 3rd year student. Breanna will be continuing her studies towards journalism, communications or potentially a career related to policing and will be attending either UBC or UOttawa.
