2014 ENCOMPASS Scholarship Recipients

We were pleased to award two Scholarships and three Honorary Education Gifts as we continue in our third year of our Scholarship Program. We had many qualified candidates to choose from and wish the best to all who applied.

We are pleased to announce the following students who were each given awards from ENCOMPASS.

To qualify, candidates must be a graduating student who has a parent that works for a client of ENCOMPASS and are pursuing post-secondary education in the Fall of 2014.

Scholarships - Bret Picture (Smaller)

Congratulations to:

Scholarship of $500 each:

  1. Caleb Fox – son of Kohler Canada employee, Deborah Fox. Caleb will be attending UBC’s Computer Engineering Program.
  2. Stephanie Uittenbosch – daughter of MB Mission employee, Selwyn Uittenbosch. Stephanie will be attending the University of the Fraser Valley to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree and planned studies in Physics and Engineering.

 

Honorary Education Gift of $200 each:

  1. Noah Potts – son of Anodyne Electronics employee, Dan Potts. Noah will be attending Camosun College’s Visual Arts program.
  2. Tristan Knoll – son of White Kennedy LLP employee, Monica Keetch. Tristan will be attending UBC Okanagan for a Bachelor of Arts degree on his way to pursuing a career with the RCMP.
  3. Chris Curran – son of Concord Sales employee, Michael Curran. Chris plans to attend BCIT for studying Architectural Sciences

 

In Addition to the two ENCOMPASS scholarships and three honorary education gifts, individual scholarships were established at various high schools and Colleges served by ENCOMPASS Benefits. Some are administered directly by the school themselves and others by COBBS (Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society. This non-profit society acts as an administrator for many schools in the Okanagan, receiving applications from students and matching them to scholarships and awards they are eligible for).

2014 Recipients are:

Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School. Kelowna, BC: Carissa Wong received $500 scholarship at graduation. Carissa will be attending the Simon Fraser University‘s Kinesiology Program to pursue a career as in sports medicine.

Heritage Christian School, Kelowna BC: Measha Thompson received a $500 scholarship at graduation. Measha will be pursuing studies in King’s University College in Edmonton on her way to becoming a Doctor.

Immaculata Secondary School, Kelowna BC: Michael Barriault received a $500 scholarship at graduation. Michael will be attending UBC Vancouver’s Commerce Program.

Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford BC: Courtney Baker received $1,000 as a 3rd year student. Courtney will be continuing her studies towards a BA in Caregiving and Counselling on her way to becoming a Resident Director at a high school or college.

Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute, Winnipeg MB: Nyasha Giesbrecht received $500 scholarship at graduation. Nyasha will be attending the University of Winnipeg’s Business Program to pursue a career as a Lawyer.

Honorary Education Gift of $200 each:
