2013 ENCOMPASS Scholarship Recipients

We were pleased to award two Scholarships and three Honorary Education Gifts at an evening reception yesterday. We had many qualified candidates to choose from and wish the best to all who applied.

We are pleased to announce the following students who were each given awards from ENCOMPASS.

To qualify, candidates must be a graduating student who has a parent that works for a client of ENCOMPASS and are pursuing post-secondary education in the Fall of 2013.

Congratulations to:

Scholarship of $500 each:

  1. Sekel Pollok – daughter of Kelowna Christian Centre Society employee. Sekel will be attending The University of Victoria , Faculty of Science to become a teacher.
  2. Amy Morin – daughter of Salmon Arm Savings & Credit Union employee. Amy will be attending the University of BC Nursing Program.

Honorary Education Gift of $200 each:

  1. Daniel Adria – son of Always On UPS Systems employee. Daniel will be attending University of BC, Faculty of Civil Engineering.
  2. Sydney Rankmore – daughter of Canadian Mental Health Association employee. Sydney will be attending Queens University to become a teacher.
  3. Rachel McCurrach – daughter of Regional District of the Central Okanagan. She will be attending York University to become a Historian or Museum Curator.

We want to congratulate these graduates on their achievements so far and wish them well in their future endeavours as they pursue their careers.

In Addition to the two ENCOMPASS scholarships and three honorary education gifts, individual scholarships were established at various high schools and Colleges served by ENCOMPASS Benefits.  Some are administered directly by the school themselves and others by COBBS (Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society.  This non-profit society acts as an administrator for many schools in the Okanagan, receiving applications from students and matching them to scholarships and awards they are eligible for).

2013 Recipients are:

Heritage Christian School, Kelowna BC:  Sophia Ng received a $500 scholarship at graduation.  Sophia will be pursuing studies in Health Sciences on her way to becoming a Doctor of Neonatal research and patient care.

Immaculata Secondary School, Kelowna BC:  MacKenzie Hoiland received a $500 scholarship at graduation.  MacKenzie is taking general studies at Okanagan University College and will be pursuing a career in trades.

Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford BC:  Chloe Bentley received $1,000 as a 3rd year student.  Chloe will be continuing her studies towards a BA in Outdoor Leadership and is in her 3rd year at Columbia Bible College.

Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute, Winnipeg MC: Adam Hermann received $500 scholarship at graduation.  Adam will be attending the University of Manitoba where he is pursuing business studies.
